Custom Design Confectionery and Bespoke Manufactured Chocolates
The Promotional Sweets Store supplies a wide range of products from our standard lines of manufacture. Occasionally we are asked to produce a piece of custom design confectionery or bespoke chocolates which by their nature involve a slightly different enquiry process than a traditional gift.
The first thing to bear in mind is that a bespoke design will invariably lead to two costs: the first being a tool or moulding that will be required to produce the chosen confectionery item. The second additional cost may be a one off pre-production sample for proof of concept and approval prior to a full manufacturing run. There may also be a small time lag in generating a quotation which will require a full product costing.
The main items we consider for bespoke design are chocolates, sweets and lollipops. Mints can also be produced to a given format and style as can bespoke products like jelly shapes.
Bespoke custom design confectionery will typically incur a longer lead time than an off-the-shelf item, and timescales are also another important consideration.
The pricing of promotional confectionery and chocolates is also identical to that of any other promotions gifts. It is volume dependent. Therefore to achieve a reasonable unit cost requires a larger print run than a standard gift item. Typical quantities for bespoke sweets should run into the thousands but it is very dependent upon the specific items in question.
An alternative to a bespoke or custom design sweet is to consider the packaging concept itself. These can also be custom designed and may involve lower investment costs. An example would be a single chocolate box, cut-out into the shape of a client logo or associated format.
